Project Overview
The NSYMCA set out to reinvigorate its camp guide and branding to better capture the excitement and energy of its summer programs. As the lead designer, I took the initiative to transform the existing materials into a vibrant, eye-catching experience. I carefully curated captivating colors, bold visuals, and engaging layouts to create a guide that would resonate with families and staff alike. The result was a refreshed and dynamic camp guide that not only highlighted the camp's offerings but also sparked enthusiasm and set the tone for an unforgettable summer season.
My Contributions
To achieve the vision for our 2019 Summer Camp materials, I faced significant challenges working with an outdated website and poor user experience that made navigation and engagement difficult. Determined to overcome these limitations, I led the effort to reimagine the camp’s branding with a fresh, playful, yet modern aesthetic. Over six months, I carefully curated high-quality photographs from the 2019 campaign, selecting images that truly captured the energy, joy, and spirit of the summer experience. Despite the constraints of the outdated platform, I dedicated an additional month to developing the camp guide and refining the branding across all marketing materials, ensuring a seamless and cohesive visual identity. This process demanded creativity, adaptability, and attention to detail. The result was a polished, engaging design that not only resonated with families but also led to a notable increase in camp registrations—proving the power of strong visuals and branding to overcome even the challenges of a poor UX and outdated website.
